4.05.31 Technical drawing area.
The technical drawing area must be large enough (at
least 16m2) to comfortably accommodate a draftsman:
(a) A drawing table with a surface of at least 1.0m
x 0.75m. Preferably with an adjustable height.
(b) A professional drawing board with an area of 0.75m x 0.50m.
(c) A blackboard or similar with an area of at least 0.75m x 0.50m for the
preparation of temporary sketches. This can be set against a wall.
(d) A draftsman's stool and 4 simple (stackable) seats for round-table
discussions.
(e) A depository for technical drawings. This can be set against a wall.
(f) A depository for drawing paper and drawing instruments. This can be set
against a wall.
(g) A minimum set of drawing instruments and materials for one draftsman.
(h) Where electricity is available, 200W lighting equipment for drawing table
and drawing board. Where no electricity is available, the technical drawing
area must be set up in a well illuminated area near a window so that the light
falls over the left shoulder of aright-handed draftsman or over the right
shoulder of a left-handed draftsman.

The draftsman will usually be part time, depending
on the range and nature of the products to be designed. He will usually also participate
in one or more of the other production processes, often in the model-making.
4.05.32 Model making area.
The preparation of good models is the key to
successful Beosite (R) products. The work is specialist and time-consuming. The
model-maker must have a good knowledge of the problems associated with mould
making and casting, so that potential technical problems can be eliminated at
the first, mould making phase.
The model making area must be large enough (at least
16m2) to comfortably accommodate a model maker and at least one assistant and
storage space for models.
(a) Two working tables each with a surface of at
least 1.0m x 0.75m. Preferably with an adjustable height.
(b) Two stools and 4 simple (stackable) seats for round-table discussions. The
stackable seats can be held in common with the technical drawing area.
(c) A minimum set of tools and
working materials as listed in .
(d) Where electricity is available, 200W lighting equipment for drawing table
and drawing board. Where no electricity is available, the technical drawing
area must be set up in a well illuminated area near a window so that the light
falls over the left shoulder of aright-handed draftsman or over the right
shoulder of a left-handed draftsman.
