05.10 DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANNED SOCIAL STRUCTURES

05.17 Environmental impact report.

The project is 100% ecological. With regard to energy consumption, hand labour carried out under the local money systems set is privileged. The basis of calculation of this money system is the perceived value of one hour's work and the contiunous interest-free recycling of the available trading units at local level.

At a second level, the project privileges the use of renewable energy sources. The use of wood and charcoal for cooking is eliminated. Organic and non-organic wastes are locally recycled at the lowest level possible. Zero energy local production units are set up to make items from gypsum necessary for project execution from gypsum composite. The manufacturing processes require no energy other than human muscle energy. Used (grey) water is recycled  at household level. Used water in the gypsum composite production units is internally recycled for manufacturing purposes.

The social and financial structures set up under the project offer a three tiered soicial security system for the aged, the sick and the handicapped, covering both their formal money and their local money obligations to the project, and in with respect to their general quality of life. For example, a sick person may be freed from his local money debits at the decision of the local tank commission. The debits may be re-dristributed amongst members of his family,  amongst cooperative groups willing to support the waker members of society, amongst all of the families referring to a tank commission, , amongst all of the families referring to a well commission, and in extreme cases amongst all of the families in the project area. Formal money monhtly contributions to the Cooperative Local Development Fund can be subsidised by the tank commission, which receives a small fund for this purpose, by family members, or by all of the families referring to  a tank or well commission.

A final environmental report must be submitted in accordance with Annexe 18 : The environmental laws applicable to this project.
